So basically there’s this place where everyone is starving, right? The Capitol of this place annually makes 24 kids from ages 12 to 18 (they’re called tributes) from the different 12 districts compete in them. The Hungry Games.
Well, the story centers around a girl named Fatniss Evercream. The time for the 74th Hungry Games rolls around and Eclair Trinket, an escort from the Capitol, comes to District 12 to announce who the two tributes will be.
Unfortunately, Fatniss’ little sister, PrimeRib Evercream is chosen. Fatniss, being the wonderful sister that she is, volunteers as tribute so that PrimeRib can be safe. The boy tribute from District 12 is revealed to be Pita Mellark, who’s had a crush on Fatniss since they were children.
What will happen? Will Fatniss fall in love with Pita? Or will she just eat him?! They are called The Hungry Games after all…
